Seeking to advance his career he moved to Maryland in 2020 and joined a pharmaceutical manufacturing company as a Project Manager. After moving back to Wisconsin, Dan worked in IT and as Project Manager in biomanufacturing. ![]() Dan lived in Olpe, Germany for several months, working in financial planning while honing his German through immersion and deepening his understanding of German culture. Notably, Dan played hockey at the varsity level. Dan enjoyed sports and participated in various team sports in high school and college. Dan was a graduate of University School of Milwaukee, and earned his bachelor’s degree in German Language Studies from the University of Arizona in Tucson, graduating in 2015. Born to Peter and Patrice Smyczek in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dan was the youngest of eight children. Dan Smyczek of Gaithersburg, Maryland passed away on August 4, 2022, at the age of 30 as the result of a tragic accident while on vacation with his family in North Carolina. ![]()
